Skill Werx & Chris Harrington

Chris Harrington is an operating executive, organizational strategist, workforce-system leader, and U.S. Army veteran with more than three decades of experience translating strategy into operating systems, organizational capability, and execution. His career spans manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, multi-site operations, organizational transformation, workforce strategy, higher education, and public workforce systems.

He has led businesses and operations ranging from complex customer-specific 3PL environments to regulated manufacturing and statewide public systems. Across those settings, the recurring work has been similar: make the real problem visible, align leaders around the outcome, redesign the system, build the required capability, and create management mechanisms that sustain performance.

Chris began his professional career in the U.S. Army, where he served for more than eight years. He is a service-connected disabled veteran, and his military experience helped shape the disciplined, practical approach to leadership, accountability, systems thinking, and workforce capability that has carried through the rest of his career.

Chris founded Skill Werx in 2022 to help organizations bridge the gap between potential and performance. His workforce perspective is grounded in direct operating experience: building technical skills systems inside companies, helping create an employer-led apprenticeship consortium, researching employer apprenticeship decisions, teaching management, leading North Carolina's State Apprenticeship Agency, and contributing to national work that strengthens the capacity of state apprenticeship leaders and systems.

He holds a PhD in Leadership Studies, an MBA in Strategic Leadership, and a BS in Organizational Management. His work is best suited to complex problems where operations, organization, leadership, workforce capability, and external systems intersect.
